Lidl is a dynamic and fast-growing retail business seeking an experienced Data Protection Specialist to join our Head Office Data Protection Team.

The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of key privacy legislation and regulations, including the GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and Privacy & Electronic Communications Regulations.

As a Subject Matter Expert, you will provide advice and guidance to all areas of the business on data protection and privacy matters, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation.

You will engage with Project Managers to deliver compliant solutions, manage internal compliance requirements, and identify potential risks through audits and project engagement.

Key responsibilities include ensuring contracts and data processing agreements are in place when onboarding new suppliers, assisting with responses to Data Subject Access Requests, and delivering ad-hoc training needs to the business.

In addition, you will maintain relationships with international colleagues in Germany regarding group-wide data processing activities and keep up-to-date with changes in data protection law and regulations.

This role reports directly to the Head of Data Protection and Data Protection Officer.

The estimated annual salary for this position is £54,375, which includes 35 days' holiday (pro rata), 10% in-store discount, pension scheme, sabbatical, and enhanced family leave.
