The Optical Engine Delivery Team is responsible for the engineering, characterization, and manufacture of Snap's AR display platform. The team delivers high-quality processes, instrumentation, and analysis to characterize and develop the next generation of AR products.
Job Summary:We're seeking an AR Optical Development Engineer to join the Optical Engine Delivery Team at Snap Inc. The successful candidate will help transfer designs and processes to contract manufacturers, analyze incoming process data, and support process development.
Key Responsibilities:- Transfer optical designs and processes to contract manufacturers;
- Analyze incoming process data and provide support with failure analysis;
- Support process development, including validation and root cause analysis;
- Work with the Optical Engine Delivery Team to deliver high-quality processes and instrumentation.
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Optics, or a related field;
- Experience with optical engineering, manufacturing, and process development;
- Proficiency in optical design software, such as Zemax, and mechanical design software, such as Solidworks;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment with fast-changing needs and priorities.
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Physics, Optics, or a related field;
- 5+ years of experience in optical engineering or a related field;
- Experience with AR/VR systems, microdisplays, and polarizing optics;
- Proficiency in programming languages, such as Python or LabView.
