Healthcare Functional Assessor with Excellent Benefits
6 days ago
Gain a new perspective on your healthcare career as a Functional Assessor with Gaia Recruitment.
Are you a nurse (RGN, RMN or RNLD) looking for a change? If you're passionate about delivering exceptional care and possess the skills to assess healthcare needs, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
As a Functional Assessor, you'll work with our client to provide unbiased, comprehensive assessments for claimants of the Government's disability allowance (Personal Independence Payment). You'll conduct initial reviews, paper-based, face-to-face, video or telephone assessments to evaluate how a claimant's health condition or disability affects their day-to-day life.
Our client's hybrid model means you'll be based at home and assigned to work from your nearest assessment centre on a rota basis to deliver face-to-face assessments. You'll spend additional time in our centres or office locations to catch up with your manager and wider team or attend in-person training sessions.
To create comprehensive reports, you'll observe and report on an individual's ability to carry out activities whilst analysing and interpreting clinical information and supporting evidence. You'll create three reports of 3,000-4,000 words for each claimant, each day. You'll be trained to provide detailed, evidence-based reports to support the DWP in making informed decisions.
Our client takes your training and development seriously, offering a 12-week training programme (Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm) with time set aside for self-development learning. You'll also have access to 3-day and 4-day training options. During the first six months, you'll receive close mentorship to support your ongoing development.
As a Functional Assessor, you'll enjoy a competitive salary of £38,500 per annum (pro rata for part-time) plus a 5% retention bonus. On achievement of remote approved status, your salary will increase to £39,900 plus up to 10% bonus. On achievement of face-to-face delivery, your salary will increase to £41,500 plus up to 10% bonus.
Requirements include:
- one year's post-registration experience as a nurse, occupational therapist, physiotherapist or paramedic
- fully registered with a relevant UK regulatory body (NMC), without restriction or conditions and with a valid PIN
- excellent observational and communication skills, giving you the ability to listen, empathise and dig deeper
- the ability to type at a minimum of 30 words per minute
- demonstrable experience with using IT and Microsoft Office, as well as remotely accessing systems such MS Teams
