Job Title: Design and Technology Technician

Aspire People Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design and Technology Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will provide technical support to the Design and Technology faculty, ensuring that all students and staff have access to the necessary resources and equipment to achieve their potential.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical support to the Design and Technology faculty, including maintenance, repair, and replacement of equipment and tools.
  • Assist staff with demonstrations and supervision of students, including emergency or practical oversight of small student groups carrying out project work.
  • Prepare and retrieve equipment and materials for lessons, activities, and examinations in curriculum areas.
  • Liaise with Head of Faculty regarding stock levels, including responsibility for ordering new stock and ensuring value for money is achieved.
  • Responsible for the safe storage of tools, equipment, and materials, including the manufacturing of racks and other equipment.
  • Implement and maintain an efficient and effective system of stock control, ensuring the safe distribution of stock within the technology department.
  • Assist staff by demonstrating new software to students, including CAD/CAM, Robotics, 2D & 3D Design, software and hardware.
  • Undertake training and development commensurate with the post.
Requirements:
  • DBS on the update service or willingness to pay for a new one to be processed.
  • Experience in a similar role or relevant technical experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
