Job Title: Academic Leader

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week

Location: Nacro Education Centre, Boston

The Academic Leader will play a key role in leading the planning and implementation of a high-quality curriculum that prepares learners for success in their next steps. This will involve working closely with the Head of Curriculum and Engagement to develop and maintain an engaging learning environment, providing line management to delivery staff, and ensuring that all learners receive appropriate support and guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a high-quality, innovative, and responsive curriculum that meets the needs of learners and employers.
  • Provide effective line management of the programme team, ensuring that all employees are clear on their roles and responsibilities, and that team members are appropriately supported and developed.
  • Work in close partnership with the Head of Curriculum and Engagement to develop and implement a high-quality learning environment, including facilities and resources.
  • Ensure that all learners receive appropriate and effective support, advice, and guidance throughout their programme.
  • Provide consistently high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment that models Nacro's high standards and aspirations.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience of delivering teaching, learning, and assessment to young people in the Further Education and Skills sector.
  • Knowledge of the Further Education and Skills sector and the related funding and regulatory frameworks.
  • Experience of coaching, mentoring, and/or supporting employees to drive improvement and development.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures, including legislation and guidance.
