Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and other related special educational needs within a school setting in Oxfordshire.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support to children with ASD/Autism, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Use a variety of teaching techniques, including positive body language, good communication, and structured routines to support children's learning and development.
  • Assist with the social, emotional, and behavioural development of children, ensuring a safe and comfortable learning environment.
  • Support students during transitions between activities and throughout the school day, ensuring consistency and stability.
  • Maintain regular communication with teachers, parents, and the wider team to monitor progress and adapt support strategies as needed.
  • Provide assistance with personal care, where required.
  • Assist in managing challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with ASD/Autism and other special educational needs.
  • Ability to provide individualized support and adapt to changing needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changing circumstances.
