An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Chelmsford. The ideal candidate will have significant experience working with 11kV HV electrical systems, particularly network switching within high voltage systems, and must be able to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain electrical systems with a focus on 11kV HV distribution.
  • Perform network switching within high voltage systems safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on HV equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.
  • Liaise with external bodies, including the Electricity Board, for inspections and compliance checks.
  • Provide technical support and expertise for any electrical issues within the plant.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation for ongoing and completed projects.

Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience working with 11kV HV systems in an industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience in network switching within high voltage systems.
  • Completion of Electricity Board training courses related to HV systems.
  • Understanding of safety procedures, risk assessments, and HV electrical safety regulations.
  • Experience in plant maintenance and power distribution systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.

Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
