Job Summary:

Aldwych Consulting is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Principal Transportation Planner to join our team. As a key member of our development planning team, you will be responsible for leading and managing a junior team of transportation planners, overseeing the production of transportation statements, assessments, and travel plans, and engaging in internal and external training sessions and design meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a junior team of transportation planners, delegating work to available resources to ensure timely and budget-friendly project delivery.
  • Oversee the production of transportation statements, assessments, and travel plans, producing these documents yourself when required.
  • Utilize AutoCAD to oversee site access and preliminary junction design.
  • Manage GIS mapping software to support transportation planning efforts.
  • Participate in internal and external training sessions and design meetings to stay up-to-date on industry best practices.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in transportation planning, preferably in a planning consultancy or project delivery setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to creatively solve complex transportation planning challenges.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and GIS mapping software.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.
