Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team at Via Westminster Drug Project in Gloucestershire.

Role Summary

The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to individuals accessing treatment with us, improving their health and outcomes. This role offers significant scope for growth and innovation within a supportive multidisciplinary team of clinical and non-clinical professionals.

About the Role

This new position is based in our nursing team and provides an excellent opportunity to build on existing service strengths, drive new developments, and make a positive impact as part of this new contract. The main purpose of this role is to provide exceptional quality of care to service users and improve their health and outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Offer harm reduction advice and information, including overdose prevention, wound awareness, and naloxone.
  • Conduct dry blood sport testing and refer for Hepatitis B vaccinations and Hepatitis C treatment if required.
  • Carry out healthcare assessments for new and existing service users.
  • Support service users to improve their health with referrals to other relevant services, such as Smoking Cessation or the Falls Clinic.
Career Development Opportunities

As a Clinical Healthcare Support Specialist, you will have the opportunity to take on additional clinical duties, such as ECGs, following successful completion of the probationary period and relevant mandatory and foundation training. You may also be eligible to be supported by Via to complete a nursing qualification.

About Us

Via Westminster Drug Project transferred Adult Drug and Alcohol Services across Gloucestershire on 1st April 2024. We offer a range of benefits, including 30 days annual leave for all new starters, health and wellbeing initiatives, financial perks, and development opportunities.

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £35,000 per annum
