The successful candidate will organize and perform experiments and analyses that support key technology projects and contribute directly to innovation and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and performing experiments at laboratory, pilot, and production scales.
- Analyze and collate data using a range of in-house and external analytical services to evaluate material properties.
- Interpret, summarize, and communicate data through written reports and verbal presentations, making basic recommendations on future work direction.
- Implement laboratory experimental procedures and maintain safe working practices in line with all relevant internal and external regulations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of work procedures and instructions.
- Take responsibility for monitoring, defining, and maintaining SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) standards for specific equipment and/or laboratory areas.
- Support the safe and effective operation of the PIC semi-technical plant asset at the Hillhouse site.
- Occasional supervision of placement students or apprentices.
Experience and Skills:
- Demonstrable working knowledge of a range of analytical techniques and materials application know-how.
- Strong analytical, communication, organizational, and team-working skills.
- High proficiency in IT and related software tools.
Qualifications and Professional Memberships:
- Essential: Level 3 Apprenticeship/HND or equivalent in a relevant scientific or technical discipline with relevant industrial experience.
