Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Transport Logistics Coordinator to join our team at Pertemps, offering crucial administrative and logistical support. This position involves managing our fleet of vehicles, organizing shipments, and maintaining accurate customer records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee Daily Transport Operations: Ensure efficiency and effectiveness in daily transport operations.
  • Schedule and Coordinate Transportation: Schedule and coordinate all transportation activities to meet business needs.
  • Monitor and Track Vehicle Movement: Monitor and track the movement of vehicles and goods to ensure timely delivery.
  • Ensure Adherence to Regulations: Ensure adherence to transport regulations and industry standards to maintain a safe and compliant operation.
  • Collaborate with Drivers and Staff: Collaborate with drivers and other staff to ensure seamless transport services.
  • Maintain Accurate Records: Maintain accurate and up-to-date transport records and reports to inform business decisions.
  • Provide Support Across Business Functions: Provide support across various business functions as required to ensure smooth operation.
  • Establish Strong Client Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients through consistent communication, offering advice, solutions, and proactive problem-solving.
  • Conduct Investigations: Conduct investigations into incidents such as accidents to identify causes and implement preventative measures.
  • Supervise Order Processes: Supervise order processes to meet standard key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Handle Customer Inquiries: Handle customer inquiries and provide information on routine operations.
  • Analyse Data and Oversee Scheduling: Analyse data and oversee scheduling and operational activities to optimize efficiency.
  • Collaborate with Other Departments: Collaborate with other departments and customers for cross-functional support.
  • Maximise Productivity: Maximise productivity through efficient route management and set productivity targets when necessary.
  • Review and Refine Operational Processes: Continuously review and refine operational processes to enhance accuracy and compliance.
  • Manage Vehicle Fleet: Manage the vehicle fleet, ensuring all vehicles are well-maintained and tracked.
  • Coordinate Shipments: Coordinate shipments by booking appointments, arranging transport, and tracking deliveries.
  • Update Customer Records: Update customer records, including contact information and order statuses, and resolve any related issues.
  • Provide Administrative Support: Provide administrative support to the operations team, such as preparing reports and responding to customer inquiries.
  • Address Freight-Related Issues: Address any freight-related issues and serve as a liaison between customers and drivers.
  • Optimise Job Efficiency: Optimise job efficiency by identifying opportunities for backhauling where appropriate.
Requirements:
  • Prior Experience: Prior experience in the transport industry is highly desirable.
  • Commercial Awareness: Strong commercial awareness and business acumen.
  • Customer Service Skills: Excellent customer service skills, including telephone etiquette.
  • Communication Abilities: Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
