At VPK Ltd, we are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate effectively with our commercial director, employees, suppliers, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Break down and quantify joinery packages received from clients into detailed Excel spreadsheets.
  • Prepare tender documents, including pricing schedules and contract terms, to ensure accurate and competitive bids.
  • Prepare and review cost estimates, budgets, and financial reports for projects to ensure timely and within-budget completion.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs and prepare bills of quantities to ensure accurate material and labor requirements.
  • Evaluate supplier quotes and negotiate to secure the best prices for our projects.
  • Analyze project specifications and drawings to determine material and labor requirements.
  • Purchase materials and communicate with our buying department to ensure timely delivery.
  • Communicate project status, updates, and potential issues and solutions to our team and clients.
  • Upload designs, create finishing schedules, cashflows, and programmes for each project to ensure smooth execution.
  • Monitor and manage control of design, production, programme, and installation on our company platforms.
  • Continuously review and evaluate project performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Review and update company policies and procedures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant health and safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular site visits to assess work progress and verify quantities.
Requirements:
  • Minimum three years of experience in fit-out joinery and carpentry.
  • Strong knowledge of construction costs, contracts, and regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills.
  • One site experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities and a meticulous eye for detail.
  • Proficient in computer technologies, especially Microsoft Office.
  • Advanced use of Excel and the ability to create schedules.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team member.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle responsibility and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organisation and time management.
  • Ability to follow instructions clearly and accurately.
  • Proactive and enthusiastic about delivering positive results.
  • Full UK driving licence. Travel between sites will be required.
