About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Strategic Sourcing IT Leader to join our team at Sumitomo Pharma America, Inc. as an Associate Director, Strategic Sourcing IT/Technology.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing Category Management activities across various spend categories, including SaaS, software, cloud platforms, hardware, telecommunications, equipment, and IT consulting services. As a leader in the Strategic Sourcing function, you will develop sound sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts with vendors, and drive business growth while ensuring compliance with best-in-class sourcing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead Category Management for specific category areas, including development of sourcing strategies and management of strategic supplier relationships.
  • Perform market research to support Category strategies and sourcing activities.
  • Support Business Owners in identifying risks associated with sourcing activities and developing mitigation plans.
  • Manage the entire RFx process, including negotiation of terms and pricing with vendors.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Deep understanding of Category Management and Strategic Sourcing principles.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and expertise in data analysis and benchmarking research.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with experience in driving teams and stakeholders towards business goals.
  • Able to work collaboratively with internal Business Stakeholders and external vendors.
