Maintenance Team Lead

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Supervisor/Chargehand to join our team at Stagecoach Blairgowrie Depot. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our depot and providing exceptional service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the daily running of the depot and all engineering staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Carry out repairs and diagnosis on vehicles as required, using your technical expertise to resolve issues quickly and safely.
- Comply with all health and safety legislation and Stagecoach policies, ensuring a safe working environment for all staff.
- Guide and support other staff members as needed, providing training and development opportunities to help them grow in their roles.
- Allocate planned and unplanned work to engineering staff, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Manage labour over time, ensuring that we have the right resources in place to meet customer demand.
- Update the engineering vehicle status board and daily garage log to reflect any changes, ensuring that all staff have access to accurate and up-to-date information.
- Liaise with the operations department to deal with changeovers and breakdowns, minimizing lost mileage and ensuring that our customers receive the best possible service.
- Manage vehicle cleaning, fuelling, oil checks, and parking, ensuring that our fleet is always in good condition.
- Process vehicle defect cards in line with engineering standard operating procedures, ensuring that all defects are reported and addressed promptly.
Requirements
- Minimum level 3 NVQ standard or equivalent in a relevant Vehicle Repair subject.
- Full conversance with the safe operation of workshop equipment.
- Full PCV license.
