Security Officer Job Description

**Job Title:** Female Security Officer Nights

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a Female Security Officer to join our team at a female-only shelter. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining security and ensuring the safety of our clients and staff.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Meet and greet visitors and staff at reception
* Maintain security of the building by issuing passes to visitors and staff
* Keep track of people arriving for appointments and when they leave the building
* Answer phone calls and respond appropriately to callers' needs
* Assist visitors when leaving the premises, arranging taxis if necessary
* Patrol premises to prevent or detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates
* Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees and other persons to guard against theft and maintain security of the premises
* Contact the police or fire departments in cases of emergency
* Monitor and adjust controls that regulate building systems, such as air conditioning and furnaces

**Requirements:**

* Hold a current and valid SIA DS Licence in an appropriate sector
* Be an excellent communicator in both verbal and written English
* Have a flexible approach to working
* Excellent computer literacy and understanding of the English language is essential
