Job Summary:

Hunter Selection is seeking a highly skilled HGV Technician to join our client's close-knit fleet maintenance team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for carrying out servicing and maintenance of all HGV, LGV fleet vehicles, trailers, tractor engines, and associated equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out routine servicing and maintenance of HGV fleet vehicles, trailers, and tractor engines to ensure they meet DVSA MOT requirements.
  • Work on engine mechanics, vehicle electrics, and diagnostics, hydraulics, and gearboxes.
  • Assist the VMU controller and manager to liaise with transport and logistics departments, keeping them informed of vehicle availability.
  • Ensure that all maintenance admin and paperwork meet company and legislative standards.

Requirements:

  • Must have previously worked as a HGV technician.
  • Experience of working on HGV trucks, tractor engines, and trailers.
  • Previously have worked in a busy fleet maintenance operation.
  • Must have strong knowledge of servicing and maintenance to DVSA standards.
  • Ideally have IMI qualifications or C&G/NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance.
  • Beneficial to hold a HGV/LGV Class 1 or 2 (C+E) Driving Licence.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Able to work on own initiative and be a team player.
  • Good knowledge of electrical, fault finding, and diagnostics.
  • Willingness to train and learn new things.
