Job Opportunity: Consultant in Feto-Maternal Medicine

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Feto-Maternal Medicine to join our team at Sandwell & West Birmingham Hospitals NHS Trust. The successful candidate will be responsible for increasing expertise in Fetal Medicine, high risk obstetrics, and intrapartum management within the Trust.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and innovation within the Directorate of Maternity & Perinatal Medicine
  • Take full and independent responsibility for the management of acute medical emergencies
  • Take full and independent responsibility for the care of obstetric, maternal medicine, and fetal medicine patients
  • Teach clinical skills to medical and nursing staff and other disciplines
  • Apply information technology to Fetal medicine
  • Commit to Continuing Medical Education and Professional Development
Requirements:
  • Entry on the Specialist Register in Obstetrics & Gynaecology (or entry expected within 6 months from the date of interview)
  • RCOG Subspeciality Accreditation (or equivalent) in Maternal & Fetal Medicine
  • Completed MOET / PROMPT training
  • Higher Degree (MD or PhD)
  • Residence within a reasonable distance of City Hospital
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Formal training in medical teaching
  • Up to date GCP training
