About the Role:

We are seeking two experienced professionals to fill the position of Property Inspector (Mechanical) at Venesky-Brown. As a Property Inspector (Mechanical), you will be responsible for conducting thorough inspections of premises to determine work requirements, priorities, and costs. You will also be responsible for reporting to the Senior Inspector and carrying out necessary repair works as part of the planned or non-planned maintenance programme.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct response-led and regular inspections of premises to determine work requirements, priorities, and costs
  • Report to the Senior Inspector and carry out necessary repair works as part of the planned or non-planned maintenance programme
  • Conduct written annual inspections of mechanical services for properties and provide recommendations
  • Respond to emergency requests for necessary mechanical repair work and arrange for remedial action to be taken
  • Issue detailed repair instructions to internal and external contractors and verify submitted invoices prior to payment
  • Supervise the standard and timely completion of repair work and minor projects
  • Liaise with premise managers to discuss repair work, minor planned budgets, and other relevant issues
  • Have a working knowledge of energy management and plant control systems (BEMS) and conventional heat controls
  • Provide an electrical monitoring and inspection role on capital projects
  • Take reasonable care for your own and others' health and safety
Essential Skills:
  • Qualifications: HNC or equivalent in a construction or services-related field
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years' experience in the mechanical services industry within the commercial services sector
  • Knowledge of current and relevant legislation and codes of practice
  • Good communication and negotiating skills
  • Be mobile throughout the Council area
  • Gas safe registration
Desirable Skills:
  • Contract management experience
  • Current driving licence
  • Membership of a relevant trade body
  • Additional relevant training and experience
  • Corporate membership
  • Knowledge of BS7671 Wiring Regulations
  • Proficient use of IT software such as CAFM systems, maintenance works ordering, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
