This is a prestigious Trust middle grade post in General Surgery within the University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust. The appointee will participate in a rotational on-call schedule, with opportunities to develop expertise in colorectal, benign UGI, and general surgery, particularly laparoscopic work.
The successful candidate will be expected to run a clinic, supported by a consultant, as well as participate in 'hot clinics' for ambulatory emergency patients. This role provides a unique opportunity to develop teaching and leadership skills, as well as contribute to the academic and research endeavors of the trust.

The job responsibilities will include participating in on-call shifts, ward cover, regular theatre and outpatient sessions, and attending various departmental meetings. The appointee will also be expected to participate in the Monday am departmental meetings and contribute to the development of the trust's clinical governance and resource management.
Key qualifications for this role include possession of the Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS) and full GMC registration with a license to practice. The appointee should also have a higher degree and be capable of running a general surgery on-call.
