Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at Sellafield Ltd. As a key member of our procurement function, you will be responsible for providing a safe, effective, efficient, and quality-driven procurement service for the acquisition of plant/facility spares, materials, consumables, and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) through established logistic processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with the Work Planning function & Local Demand Community to ensure that all tasks that require materials have been identified, ordered, and delivered.
  • Monitor, control and move spares, materials and equipment entering and leaving the plant/facility to ensure safe effective delivery of maintenance and operations activities.
  • Monitor all material demands against the Work Schedule to ensure quality material information is maintained within the warehouse management system.
  • Provide regular updates to the Demand Community on the status of goods and materials in support of T-6 Go/No Go decisions.
  • Check and collate the delivered goods against the relevant order paperwork to ensure materials delivered are correct prior to distribution to prevent delays in the work management process.
  • Collate an inventory of unused spares and materials to feedback into the work management process to ensure value for money.
  • Ensure good house and record keeping and maintain the visual information boards to have a safe working environment and oversight of estimated deliveries.
  • Collate and provide required key performance measures to help improve the overall performance of the plant/facility, trend issues and drive improvements.
  • Support the identification of existing, appropriate spares stock from local, site, and inventory managed stock, to avoid duplication of stocked materials, the avoidance of lead-time delays, and unnecessary supply chain expenditure to contributes to SL efficiencies and reduction of excess stock.
  • Actively contribute toward the delivery of site-wide PIC process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and value to the business.

Requirements

  • Experience of IT systems, such as the Windows suite including Outlook & Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to advise others using technical knowledge.
  • Team player, who can work flexibly as part of an enterprise-wide support function.
  • Experience of working within an industrial setting.
