Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Manager to join our client's technical team in Runcorn, Cheshire. As a Quality Manager, you will be responsible for raising quality and site standards, providing technical support across the business, and developing quality systems to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Systems Development: Develop, create, and implement quality systems to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Internal Audits: Conduct and coordinate internal audits, prepare for audits, and implement actions to correct non-conformances.
  • HACCP Reviews: Lead site HACCP reviews to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
  • Quality Team Management: Manage and support Quality Auditors and Hygiene Operators, assisting with their development and growth.
  • Root Cause Analysis: Conduct root cause and gap analysis to identify weaknesses and areas for improvement.
  • Quality Control: Take responsibility for all quality control aspects of the process, including pest control, testing, operations, environment testing, raw materials, consumable stocks, production, finished product or services.
  • Traceability Challenges: Coordinate traceability challenges for QMS and audits.
  • Deputy Technical Manager: Deputise for the Technical Manager as required.
  • Food Safety Culture: Support the development of the site's Food Safety Culture.
  • Hygiene Management: Develop and ensure that the site's requirements for its Hygiene Management system are met.
  • Quality Meetings and Training: Coordinate Quality meetings and training, participate in Quality Steering Meetings and representative meetings.
  • Customer Complaints: Investigate customer complaints and quarantine incidents, determining root cause to mitigate recurrence.
  • Cost Reduction and Best Practice: Support the reduction of department costs and best practice development.
  • Trend Analysis: Trend KPIs and complaints, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Strong experience of working in FMCG, in accordance with BRC requirements.
  • Qualifications: A degree-level qualification or similar and a minimum of Level 3 Food hygiene and HACCP.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong experience of identifying areas for improvement and implementing change, policies, and procedures, and the ability to effectively lead, manage, and motivate a team.
