We're on the lookout for an exceptional Methane Removal Research Lead to join our team at Deep Science Ventures.
About the Opportunity
This is a full-time, remote position with the opportunity to work closely with our team and contribute to the development of innovative solutions for methane removal from air.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in a relevant field such as inorganic/physical chemistry, physics, environmental, chemical or mechanical engineering, materials science, atmospheric (geo)chemistry, or similar. They should also have broad understanding of current approaches and state-of-the-art technologies, and constraints relevant for this opportunity area.
Additionally, the successful candidate will have previously led or managed commercial delivery of an innovative biotech, engineering, industrial, or hardware technology venture with broad understanding of technical product development and R&D commercialization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead research efforts to identify and develop innovative solutions for methane removal from air;
- Collaborate with the DSV team to co-found and spin-out a new company focused on methane removal technologies;
- Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to achieve key milestones and deliverables;
- Maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including investors, partners, and colleagues;

Our Offer
We offer:
- A competitive salary of £60,000 per annum;
- A guaranteed income of £4,166 per month paid as a consultancy fee until the company is launched and the pre-seed investment is secured;
- Up to £250k in investment to incorporate the new venture and develop early proof-of-concept data;
- A majority equity stake in the new company for you and your co-founders;
- Continuous post-spinout support, including fundraising, commercial partnerships, recruitment, and team-building;
- Collaborative support from dozens of Founders currently at DSV across sectors.
