As a Lead VFX Artist, you will be instrumental in driving the creation of high-quality visual effects for a AAA console game, leveraging your expertise and passion to push the boundaries of real-time technology.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Lead VFX Artist to join our team, who can work closely with the art director, studio leads, and clients to maintain or establish the artistic vision and style guide for the VFX work. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing and mentoring a small team of VFX Artists, developing their skills, and providing inspiring direction and constructive critique that aligns with the artistic vision of the project.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a high-quality VFX pipeline, ensuring efficient and stable delivery of VFX assets.
  • Collaborate with the art director and studio leads to establish and maintain the artistic vision and style guide for the VFX work.
  • Manage and mentor a small team of VFX Artists, providing guidance, feedback, and support to ensure their growth and success.
  • Partner with the technical teams to deliver an efficient, stable, and state-of-the-art VFX pipeline, steering the development of new tools and technologies.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, applying your knowledge to continually improve the VFX work and push the boundaries of what is possible.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience as a Lead VFX Artist or equivalent role, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality VFX work.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team of VFX Artists.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in VFX tools such as Houdini, Substance Designer, and Unreal Engine, with a strong understanding of VFX principles and techniques.
  • Experience working on AAA console games, with a deep understanding of the technical and artistic requirements of the industry.
