Aspiring SEN Teacher

About the Role:

We are seeking an Aspiring SEN Teacher to join our team at Academics. The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting children with special educational needs and a desire to make a positive impact on their lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to students and in group sessions, following their individual targets.
  • Work alongside teachers and other support staff to create a safe and supportive classroom environment.
  • Encourage positive social interactions and emotional regulation.
  • Prepare resources and plan for sessions to deliver a smooth lesson focusing on communication and life skills using applied behavioural analysis.
  • Provide behavioural management support to help reduce behaviours.
  • Track and log pupil progress throughout the day, collaborating with the team to adjust targets as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience and desire to work with children with special educational needs.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Proactive approach.
