We are seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter to join our team at Devonport dockyard in Plymouth. As an Electrical Fitter, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the serviceability of warships and submarines through detailed maintenance and refit periods.
Key Responsibilities:- Overhaul and install electrical equipment, including distribution, command and control systems
- Work with electrical and engineering drawings to interpret work instructions and connect cabling
- Carry out system and equipment functional tests
- Ability to read electrical and engineering drawings
- Competence in the use of general workshop machinery specific to electrical fitting
- Experience working with Fibre Optics, Data Cables, RF Cables, Plugs and Connectors
- Qualifications in electrical discipline, such as Indentured Apprenticeship or Level 3 Modern Apprenticeship
- 35 hours standard with a possibility of shift and overtime
- 6 months contract initially
- Opportunity to work on-board warships and submarines
All applicants will be required to obtain baseline MOD clearance in order to fulfil this role.
