About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Mechanic/Plant Fitter to join our dedicated workshop team at a respected metal recycling business in Scotland.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGVs, company vehicles, and various plant machinery.
  • Diagnose and rectify electrical and mechanical faults across the fleet.
  • Assist with MOT preparation and inspections as needed.
  • Adhere to planned work schedules and liaise with the transport administration function.
  • Work independently on routine servicing and site breakdowns.
  • Meet deadlines and work efficiently to maintain operational requirements.
  • Ensure full compliance with all health and safety policies.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Qualified HGV Mechanic with experience in a workshop environment.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Strong diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised when required.
