As the Engineering Stores Supervisor, you will oversee the daily management of the Engineering Stores to ensure all required parts and consumables are available for efficient completion of planned and corrective maintenance.

You will provide direct oversight of stock and non-stock parts ordering, offering feedback to team members in Engineering on the availability and lead time of required items to facilitate shutdown planning.

The role involves improving the daily operational reliability of the Engineering Stores by:

  1. Enhancing the robustness of the cycle counting process.
  2. Developing a means to address materials queries competently.
  3. Reviewing the reorder status of individual parts to prevent potential stock outs and remove redundant parts from the Engineering stores.
  4. Using root cause techniques to eliminate repeat issues that increase manufacturing equipment downtime.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides on-site daily support to ensure good running of the Engineering stores.
  • Coordinates daily activities to ensure spare parts are being reordered, delivered, and receipted promptly.
  • Supervises the CMMS administration team, who create spare parts data in SAP in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulatory guidelines.
  • Manages all planned maintenance activities allocated to the Engineering stores area, including third-party contractor management.
  • Works with the Engineering maintenance planner to ensure all required parts are available for upcoming planned maintenance activities.
  • Interfaces with outside suppliers, third-party contractors, and Engineering department representatives to resolve supply issues.
  • Collaborates with Procurement and Accounts Payable to progress and resolve purchase orders issues.
  • Promotes safe working practices and engages with safety programmes, reviewing and revising standard operating procedures (SOPs) and other controlled documents.

Requirements:

  • Higher National Certificate or equivalent Level 4 qualification in an Engineering discipline.
  • Supervisory experience managing teams.
  • Knowledge of cGMPs and manufacturing operations in FDA regulated facilities is preferred.
