Head of Pharmacology Opportunity

VRS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Pharmacology to join their team in Cambridge.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the pharmacology department, overseeing the discovery research process from early development to pre-clinical efforts and first-in-human clinical trials.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead a team of scientists and program teams to progress small molecules through the different phases of discovery into optimization and pre-clinical drug discovery.
  2. Develop and implement translational pharmacology strategies to drive innovation and growth.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and delivery.
  4. Manage budgets and resources to achieve departmental goals and objectives.

Requirements:

  • BSc, MSc or PhD in a relevant scientific discipline.
  • Proven experience in an industry setting, with expertise in translational pharmacology.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in managing teams of scientists.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
