Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our team at Elanco. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and expertise in the development of new pharmaceutical and vaccine products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and oversight for upstream development projects, ensuring phase-appropriate technical development and collaboration with relevant functions.
  • Process Development: Lead the development of process development projects in the development laboratories and pilot plant areas, ensuring a sound laboratory/pilot plant program in alignment with global requirements.
  • Technical Transfers: Oversee technical transfers and scale-up into the pilot plant for delivery of pivotal materials, ensuring a robust control strategy and successful product launch.
  • Quality by Design: Lead the application of Quality by Design principles for the development of control strategies and design spaces through experimentation.
  • Commercialization: Support the successful commercialization of new products by partnering across functions and providing technical expertise to scientific problems.
  • Technical Resource: Serve as a technical resource across Elanco, applying technical expertise to scientific problems and supporting the network.
  • Coaching and Mentoring: Coach and mentor development scientists to ensure the delivery of high-quality technical reports and provide technical review for team development reports.
Requirements
  • Education: A degree in a scientific discipline (biochemistry, biotechnology/biologics or related discipline) or other relevant experience in a science field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of relevant experience in development/commercialization activities for pharmaceutical or vaccine products.
  • Skills: Demonstrated success in the development and commercialization of new pharmaceutical or vaccine technologies, experience in regulated environments, and strong problem-solving skills.
