About the Role

Pertemps TM is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil CAD Technician to join our team. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for producing detailed 2D and 3D drawings for civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, drainage systems, utilities, and land development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Drawing: Produce detailed 2D and 3D drawings for civil engineering projects, including roads, bridges, drainage systems, utilities, and land development.
  • Site Planning: Prepare site plans, grading plans, profiles, cross-sections, and detail drawings based on project specifications and standards.
  • Design Review: Modify existing drawings as needed, incorporating design changes, client feedback, or updated standards.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and support junior CAD technicians, providing training and technical assistance on civil engineering projects.
  • Quality Control: Review and verify the accuracy and quality of drawings and designs produced by the team to ensure compliance with project specifications and standards.
  • Project Coordination: Work closely with civil engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure designs are feasible and meet project requirements.
  • Workflow Management: Oversee the workflow of CAD tasks within civil engineering projects, ensuring timely completion and adherence to deadlines.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiently use specialized civil CAD software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, or similar applications relevant to civil engineering.
  • Interdepartmental Collaboration: Coordinate with various departments, including engineering, construction, and planning teams, to ensure cohesive and integrated project execution.
  • Technical Problem-Solving: Identify and address technical issues related to civil CAD drawings and designs, implementing effective solutions.
Requirements
  • Education: Relevant degree in Civil Engineering or related field is required (i.e. BEng (Hons)/MEng (Hons)).
  • Experience: Minimum 4+ years' experience in creating and prepared detailed drawings, etc. within infrastructure, drainage, flood risk assessments and highways, etc.
  • Software Skills: Highly experienced in the use of AutoCAD and/or Civil 3D is essential.
  • Civil Engineering Knowledge: Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, standards, and practices, particularly in areas like road design, drainage, grading, and utilities.
  • Leadership and Communication: Proven and relevant delegation and negotiating skills alongside relevant project management experience.
  • Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all drawings and designs.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
  • Mentorship: Ability to provide guidance and mentorship to junior CAD technicians and support staff.
  • Utility Design Knowledge: Knowledge of the design and layout of utilities, including water, sewer, and stormwater systems is preferred.
