Job Description:

SMART Education Recruitment is seeking a dedicated and experienced Learning Support Assistant to join our team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher and providing additional support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to pupils with SEN, focusing on their academic, social, and emotional needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring that pupils with SEN receive the necessary support.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote pupil engagement, motivation, and independence.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher and other support staff to ensure a cohesive and effective support system.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress, providing regular feedback to the class teacher and other relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • 6 months experience of working in a secondary school and supporting the class teacher with the aims of the National Curriculum.
  • Makaton experience, preferred but not essential.
  • At least 6 months experience supporting pupils in EYFS or Key Stage One 1-2-1.

Working Conditions:

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm.
  • Location: Stourbridge.
