About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Support Worker to join our Special School Nursing Team. The successful candidate will work primarily in Henry Tyndale School, Farnborough, providing specialist support to children and young people with Special Educational Needs and complex health conditions.

The role will involve teaching and training of school staff, supervision of delegated skills, and working collaboratively with children, families, and the wider multi-disciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have recent experience of working with children and people with learning disabilities.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist qualified staff in the provision of care as detailed in individual care plans.
  • Develop rapport with patients and treat all patients, carers, and staff with dignity and respect.
  • Work with nursing staff, multi-disciplinary teams, and other allied health professionals.
  • Actively participate in team handovers and provide verbal reports as required.
  • Implement agreed standards of care provision in line with local Ward/Unit/community and Trust policies.

Solent NHS Trust is working with other local NHS Trusts to create a new organisation, bringing together community, mental health, and learning disability services from across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. The new Trust will operate locally to ensure services can best meet the needs of different communities.
