Mechanical Fitter/Engineer Opportunity

Alfa Laval UK&I seeks a Mechanical Fitter/Engineer to join our team based in Camberley, UK.

This full-time role involves working within our Service Centre in Camberley, reporting to the Team Manager of High-Speed Separators and Decanters. As part of a skilled team, you will be responsible for the disassembly and re-assembly of various rotating mechanical equipment, including balancing critical components to OEM standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing Decanters for inspection by stripping various models
  • Cleaning equipment for service or repair, using jet washing and chemical cleaning methods
  • Dismantling and reassembling gearboxes according to guidelines
  • Rebuilding equipment after inspection and testing
  • Utilizing technical drawings to assist in disassembly and re-assembly processes
  • Operating standard hand tools (imperial & metric) and special tools (imperial & metric)
  • Handling medium to heavy-duty equipment safely
  • Operating overhead cranes and lifting equipment with precision
  • Familiarity with Health and Safety protocols and correct PPE usage
  • Balancing sub-assemblies for accuracy
  • Balancing Bowls, conveyors, and gearbox shells using dynamic balancing equipment
  • Proficiency in welding equipment (TIG welding training provided)

Requirements:

You hold an appropriate apprenticeship or qualification in engineering, with experience working with hand, pneumatic, and hydraulic tools in a workshop environment. You can interpret technical drawings and manuals with both Imperial and Metric dimensions. Familiarity with workshop-related disciplines, including PPE and H&S requirements, is essential. Experience using cranes, slings, and stacker trucks is beneficial, although comprehensive training will be provided. Strong IT skills are also required.
