CNC Setter Job Description

The successful CNC Setter will be responsible for setting and operating CNC Lathes to produce parts that meet the required specifications. This involves setting and running proven and unproven programs, adjusting work and/or tool coordinates, and correcting any errors. The ideal candidate will have experience in using CNC Machines, be able to read and understand engineering drawings and GD&T, and have a good understanding of how tools and material will react after and during machining. Additionally, the candidate should be able to foresee potential problems before they arise and be deadline-driven without compromising quality. The CNC Setter will also be responsible for maintaining equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements and performing other duties as required by the Company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Set and operate CNC Lathes to produce parts that meet the required specifications.
  • Set and run proven and unproven programs.
  • Adjust work and/or tool coordinates and correct any errors.
  • Maintain equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Company.

Requirements:
  • Experience in using CNC Machines.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and GD&T.
  • Ability to read and understand ISO and conversational machine programs.
  • Capable of using various machine controls.
  • Good understanding of how tools and material will react after and during machining.
  • Ability to foresee potential problems before they arise.
  • Deadline-driven without compromising quality.
