As a Community Support Specialist with The Forward Trust, you will play a vital role in developing and managing our Peer Mentor service and social inclusion category. This position involves promoting the service across the county, recruiting, training, and supervising peer mentors. You will work remotely, traveling throughout the county to meet service users in custody and upon release from prison, as well as co-locating with probation services at various mandated locations.
About Us:

Key Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for completing comprehensive assessments and managing risks in conjunction with probation services. You will create collaborative action plans, promote and recruit peer mentors, train and supervise them, and maintain accurate record keeping. Requirements:
To succeed in this position, you should have knowledge of the issues facing service users in the criminal justice sector, experience of managing peer mentors and/or volunteers, and demonstrable experience of managing caseloads, carrying out risk/comprehensive assessments, and creating SMART action plans. You must also be able to communicate clearly and concisely, have effective listening skills, and be quick-thinking with high initiative. A relevant qualification in criminal justice/social care or comparable experience is desirable.
Benefits:
The Forward Trust offers a range of benefits, including training opportunities, flexible working arrangements, season ticket loan scheme, cycle-to-work scheme, 25 days (rising to 30) annual leave plus bank holidays, contributory pension scheme, employer-matched contributions, death-in-service payment, critical illness insurance, and simply health benefits.
