We have an esteemed global Energy, Utilities & Resources practice comprising over 100 consultants distributed across 14 offices worldwide. This distinguished practice caters to a diverse client base consisting of blue-chip corporations, private entities, PE firms, infrastructures, and sovereign wealth funds.


The Role: Project Manager


We are currently seeking an experienced project manager to spearhead the expansion of our capability and client base within the UK's Energy, Utilities & Resources sector. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of successfully delivering projects (strategy, CDD, Value Creation / Performance Improvement) for clients based both domestically and internationally. As a senior manager, you will be hands-on, work independently with a strong focus on project delivery while collaborating closely with colleagues in the UK and international offices. A forward-thinking mindset, intellectual curiosity, and genuine interest in the Energy, Utilities & Resources sector are indispensable for success in this role. Experience in resources is a plus but not a critical requirement.
Responsibilities

  • Consultancy involves high levels of responsibility and pressure. It may involve dealing with challenging targets and tight deadlines.
  • Work can be conducted at an international level, allowing opportunities for travel and collaboration with client organizations abroad as well as working across different time zones.
  • We collaborate with corporates and the Private Equity, Infra. & Sovereign Wealth funds community on strategy, commercial due diligence, and post-transaction (value creation) projects.
  • We are a growth-oriented organization with entrepreneurial and driven Partner & Principal colleagues focused on building a successful practice in the UK and globally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading and supporting the delivery of often complex and interesting projects.
  • Working under pressure within a team environment, adopting a hands-on approach, and demonstrating commitment to achieving solutions.
  • Demonstrating intellectual curiosity to understand intricate problems and rationalize them into actionable solutions.
  • Serving as a role model – independently developing and producing high-quality output against project objectives and tight deadlines.
  • Motivating, guiding, and managing junior team members to drive efficiency and optimal solutions for clients.
  • Providing rigorous analysis from relevant datasets to inform fact-based decision-making.
  • Demonstrating strong presentation and facilitation skills, able to succinctly and creatively present robust evidence-based messages.
  • Contributing to impactful thought leadership for use in business development, engagement delivery, and marketing efforts to enhance ADL's profile.

Qualifications

We seek candidates with the following background:



  • 5+ years of experience and management of similar projects in a strategy / management consulting environment.
  • A minimum 2.1 Honours Degree from a reputable university.
  • An STEM or Economics background is desirable, though not necessary.

Salary
Estimated salary range: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
