Linux Engineer Opportunity

Huntress Search Ltd is seeking a skilled Linux Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. The role will be fully remote, with occasional travel to London.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Collaborate with an operations team of experienced system and network engineers.
  2. Implement security projects on various server and networking platforms.
  3. Install, monitor, and maintain hardware and software.
  4. Develop scripts to automate tasks and processes.
Requirements:
  1. 5 years' experience in system administration, primarily with Linux, supporting a production environment.
  2. Strong team player with initiative, ability to work independently, and see complex projects through to completion.
  3. Scripting skills in at least one language (bash, Perl, Python).
  4. Experience with deployment and debugging of complex applications.
  5. Experience with databases, including MySQL and MongoDB.
  6. Experience with cloud-based services and virtualization (AWS, VMWare).
  7. Experience with networking and security concepts, including Juniper Firewalls.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
Bonus Skills:
  1. Past experience working with real-time applications that are up 24x7.
  2. Experience working on security initiatives, such as implementing ISO 27001 technical controls.
  3. Familiarity with Opsview monitoring system.
  4. Enterprise IT support.
