Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Specialty Doctor to join our Community CAMHS Learning Disability team in Canterbury, Kent. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality care to children and young people with mental health needs, working closely with families and other external CAMHS mental health providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing care to children and young people with mental health needs, across Kent.
  • Provide senior medical support to the team and direct input on clinical cases.
  • Offer clinical supervision and teaching to core trainees on placement.
  • Support your peers and the team manager, working on your own initiative.
  • Supervise junior colleagues and liaise with other health and social professionals and agencies.
Requirements
  • Registration with the GMC with a licence to practice.
  • Section 12 Approval or eligibility for it.
  • Mastery in the management of a broad range of mental disorders in children, including neurodevelopmental disorders.
  • At least 4 years of full-time postgraduate training (or its equivalent gained on a part-time basis) of which at least 2 years will be in a specialty training programme in a relevant specialty or as a fixed term specialty trainee or shall have equivalent experience and competencies.
