Your new role will be located in a dynamic and collaborative environment, where you will be part of a collective of engineers, consultants, and project managers experienced in MEP, Fire, and Sustainability design. They deliver technical construction documentation and BIM packages for architects, developers, and self-builders by creating descriptions of engineering systems.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Delivery of MEP documentation on projects in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintaining professional working relationships with clients.
  • Attending meetings and keeping on top of communications with clients and colleagues.
  • Communicating and escalating any problems to your manager when they arise on projects so they can be resolved quickly.

You will be required to:

  • Manage MEP projects.
  • Be responsible for reviewing work produced by more junior members of the team.
  • Perform design calculations.
  • Create MEP system drawings.
  • Write system specifications.
  • Attend meetings with the design team.
  • Write feasibility reports.
  • Attend site from time to time to physically look at installations on behalf of the client or the company.
  • Learn to manage projects.
  • From time to time, require professional training to gain qualifications required of the job.

What you'll need to succeed:

  • At least 4 years of design experience in the construction industry.
  • Experience with the RIBA stage of construction design work.
  • Experience of different types of design contracts, including design and build and traditional.
  • Understanding of the importance of data confidentiality and employee wellbeing.
  • Computer literacy in software such as Outlook, Excel, Word, AutoCAD, IES, Amtech, Revit, and Dialux.
  • Ideally, a chartered engineer with the ICE.
  • A master's degree in engineering or physics or science-based degree.
  • Membership to CIBSE, IET, or IMechE.
