About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to join our team at Tarmac Hendre Quarry. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our plant and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out scheduled, planned, and reactive mechanical maintenance activities to maintain plant condition and performance.
  • Monitor and maintain the condition and performance of plant and associated equipment, identifying potential issues that could impact availability or performance.
  • Lead mechanical breakdown and planned repairs to ensure expected plant reliability and optimize plant and equipment performance.
  • Implement effective mean time to repair methods to minimize production disruption and downtime.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in an industrial, factory, or similar environment as a mechanical maintenance fitter.
  • Good knowledge of crushing, screening, conveying, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to use PCs and common applications, as well as company systems.
  • Fault finding ability to identify defects and recommend appropriate action.
  • Good practical knowledge and experience of maintenance systems.
  • Ability to assess SHE risks arising from work activities and control risks accordingly.
  • Knowledge of site-specific SHE procedures and Safe Working Practices.
  • Working knowledge of plant and machinery.
  • Basic report writing skills.
