Job Title: Finance Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to support the Strategic Finance Manager in leading the development and delivery of medium-term financial planning, coordination of the Council's annual budget process, and alignment with Corporate and Service planning processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead on the development and delivery of medium-term financial planning, in conjunction with Senior Leaders and Finance Business Partner colleagues.
  • Coordinate financial monitoring and reporting processes across the Council, ensuring regular reporting to the council's leadership and improving current processes.
  • Work closely with Finance Business Partners to provide insights to decision-makers and coordinate processes for development of financial mitigations.
  • Support the Strategic Finance Manager in leading the Treasury Management Strategy and ensuring delivery of longer-term financial sustainability in a complex and financially challenged authority.
Requirements:
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a challenging environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work closely with Senior Leaders and Finance Business Partner colleagues.
  • Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and financial reporting, with a strong understanding of financial management principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering results and meeting deadlines.
