Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust. As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of adult patients with varied physical disabilities across multiple sites.

The post holder will work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to assess patients' functional and cognitive abilities, plan and coordinate occupational therapy interventions, and supervise students on practice placements and Occupational Therapy Assistants as required.

A comprehensive understanding of current practice in occupational therapy and health is essential for this role, as is the ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance. The successful candidate will also have excellent written and oral communication skills, computer literacy, and evidence of participation in continuing professional development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of adult patients with varied physical disabilities across multiple sites
  • Assess patients' functional and cognitive abilities and plan and coordinate occupational therapy interventions
  • Supervise students on practice placements and Occupational Therapy Assistants as required
  • Work closely with the multi-disciplinary team to achieve patient goals

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree/diploma in Occupational Therapy
  • Broad knowledge of current practice in occupational therapy and health
  • Ability to reflect and critically appraise own performance
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Computer literacy with ability to effectively use computer software to support Occupational Therapy interventions
  • Evidence of participation in continuing professional development

Salary: £32,000 - £43,041 per annum depending on experience
