A competitive salary of £97,511 to £112,835 per annum (inclusive of £2,000 annual supplement) is offered for this Consultant Gastroenterologist position at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.

About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional Consultant Gastroenterologist to join our dynamic team at The Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust. As a key member of our Gastroenterology department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Responsibilities

  • Provide specialist gastroenterology services to patients across our three hospital sites, including Dewsbury District Hospital, Pinderfields General Hospital, and Pontefract General Infirmary.
  • Contribute to the GI bleed out-of-hours on-call rota on a 1:8 basis, providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues.
  • Participate in leadership roles within sub-specialty areas, supervising junior doctors and nursing staff, and promoting excellence in patient care.
  • Deliver formal teaching responsibilities and contribute to departmental leadership roles, supporting the professional development of colleagues.
  • Work closely with other consultants to deliver inpatient care for General Internal Medicine, participating in a consultant of the week model of care on a one-in-eight rota.
