Job Overview

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Distribution Shift Manager to join our Transport Team at Brakes Depot in Portbury. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for leading and motivating our driver colleagues, ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of goods, and maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Provide guidance and support to driver colleagues, ensuring they have the necessary resources and training to perform their duties effectively.
  • Transport Operations: Oversee the daily operations of the transport team, including scheduling, routing, and logistics planning.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure that all transport operations are conducted in accordance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, with a focus on health and safety.
  • Customer Service: Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external customers, ensuring their needs are met and exceeded.
  • Cost Management: Work closely with the finance team to ensure that all transport costs are managed effectively and within budget.
Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in transportation and logistics, preferably with a CPC qualification. You should have excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team. A strong understanding of transport compliance and safety regulations is essential.
