About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Nurse to take charge of shifts, assessing patients' health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload. The ideal candidate will have excellent management experience in a similar role, with proven ability to lead a team and develop nursing services.

Responsibilities
  • Taking charge on shifts, assessing patients' health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload.
  • Assisting in the delivery of care to meet the patient's needs.
  • Actively promoting best practice and contributing towards quality improvements.
  • Collecting, collating, and organising data, interpreting all of the information, and making a justifiable assessment available to relevant others.
  • Mentoring newly qualified staff and student nurses.
  • Liaising and networking with other departments across the hospital.
Requirements
  • Current NMC registration with no restriction on practice.
  • Experience of working within Surgical settings.
  • Cardiac experience is highly desirable.
  • Good management experience in a similar role, with proven ability to lead a team and develop nursing services.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills, with the ability to manage a complex service while ensuring a gold standard of care for all patients throughout their stay.
  • Flexibility to work a rotation of days and nights.
