About the Role

The HR Advisor will work closely with the HR Business Partner to provide an effective service to our United Living Infrastructure Services business, supporting the design, maintenance, and development of critical energy and water infrastructure for the UK's largest network of owner/operators and private industrial clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Be the first point of contact for HR queries, including terms and conditions, HR policies, and procedures.
  • Support managers on ER matters, such as investigations, performance and/or conduct issues, disciplinaries, and grievances.
  • Support managers on absence management, including occupational health needs, unauthorized absence, long and short-term sickness, and managing absence under the Bradford Factor process.
  • Provide and design training on HR matters as required.
  • Support the HR Business Partner and lead on organizational change activities, such as TUPEs, restructures, and redundancies.

HR Projects

  • Support the ULIS HR team in implementing and delivering the People strategy.
  • Lead and/or support on HR projects as required by the Pillar or Business.

Payroll

  • Ensure all payroll instructions are prepared, logged, and checked in time for the monthly payroll run, including contractual variations, new starters, leavers, contractual benefits, and employee benefits.
  • Provide sickness reports confirming paid and unpaid sickness for the monthly payroll run.

HR Database and Reporting

  • Responsible for updating and managing the HR ER database.
  • Run routine HR reports, such as a monthly Bradford Factor report for the Pillar.
  • Review and monitor key payroll reports, such as maternity and National Minimum wage reports, and take action to ensure compliance.
  • Update and maintain the HR system's records.
  • Run and provide ad hoc HR reports as required by the Business Partner, Pillar, and/or Business.

Leaver Administration

  • Carry out exit interviews to support retention plans.

Other Administrative Duties

  • Support with administrative tasks related to the Pillar as required.
  • Maintain and update process notes for all HR Advisor duties.
  • Ensure all aspects of data protection and confidentiality are maintained at all times.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Requirements

Preferably a HR-related qualification.
