Job Role Overview


At Turning Point, we support individuals with Learning Disabilities across England. As a Bank Support Worker, you will make a significant difference in people's lives by enhancing their daily living skills. We are passionate about people and strive to provide a supportive environment where you can grow and progress with us.


About the Role


You will be working in our 24-hour supported living facility in Birchington, where we support 8 individuals. Our service offers tailored support to enable people to be as independent as possible. You will work closely with a specific person, based on shared preferences and personalities, to create a bespoke core team of staff.


Responsibilities



  • Promote the independence of the people we support
  • Support a full range of daily activities, including cleaning, cooking, days out, and holidays
  • Arrange activities in the home and local community
  • Develop residents' life skills and personal interests
  • Ensure residents' safety and health
  • Assist with personal care needs
  • Manual handling
  • Support people with medication
  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to service monitoring requirements

Requirements


We are looking for a passionate, caring, and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills. You should be flexible, patient, and non-judgmental, with the ability to complete physical tasks such as manual handling. Knowledge of learning disabilities and complex needs is beneficial but not essential.
