Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £55,596-£62,546 (Band 3C) depending on skills, qualifications, and experience. Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Engineering Standards Manager. As a key member of our design and construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all projects within the national programme comply with legislation, Railway Group, and Network Rail company standards. You will also monitor the competence of project engineers and provide functional guidance, direction, and briefing as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Network Rail systems and procedures to deliver a cost-effective, high-quality, and safe approach to design, construction, commissioning, and other technical activities on relevant projects.
  • Monitor the competence of all project engineers working on projects within the functional discipline and provide functional guidance, direction, and briefing.
  • Apply engineering controls and procedures to all projects so that all design and construction contracts include reference to appropriate Railway Group and Network Rail Company standards applicable to their discipline.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCE in engineering disciplines, ideally with involvement in construction and design projects across multi-discipline areas.
  • Technical qualifications to at least HNC level or equivalent.
  • Membership of a relevant professional institution.
  • Experience of contracting.
  • Knowledge of structuring safety cases in support of projects.
  • Knowledge of safety management and quality assurance.
  • Understanding of the arrangements required for the independent assessment of works.
  • Accident investigation experience.
