Primary Teacher Job Description

GSL Education is currently recruiting for a primary teacher to work within a school in a local area. This role includes working with children who have additional needs, and you will be assisted with qualified/experienced teaching assistants.

The role includes:

  • Planning and teaching lessons against the National Curriculum and differentiating the work to children.
  • General Group Support and using sports as an enrichment activity.
  • Working alongside teaching assistants to help provide the best learning environment.
  • Encouraging learning and concentration in lessons.
  • Leading sports classes indoors and outdoors.
  • Acting as a positive role model, energetic and always willing to support.

The ideal candidates will have:

  • Experience in working with young children in a mainstream school.
  • Experience working with challenging behaviour, autism, ADHD, and social and emotional mental health.
  • Relevant qualifications (QTS).
  • A good understanding of the curriculum.
  • The ability to work full time – 5 days a week.

Requirements:

  • An enhanced DBS Child and Adult Check – must be on the update service.
  • Two references are a must in order to clear your file with GSL.
