**Job Overview**

  • This is an ideal role for someone with 3-5 years' experience in planning consultancy or Local Authority backgrounds.

As a Planning Consultant, you will work closely with clients and senior colleagues to deliver solutions to challenging problems in Property & Development, Infrastructure & Utilities, and Mining & Minerals. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing planning applications and project management to ensure the project team is up-to-date and working to schedule
  • Preparing Planning Statements, Design and Access Statements, EIA Screening Requests, and completing application forms
  • Supporting senior colleagues to progress projects from inception to completion
  • Client and Case Officer liaison
  • Appraising new development opportunities, including site appraisals for energy and minerals projects
  • Undertaking site visits
  • Research on live applications, development plans, supplementary guidance, and other critical information for client reports
  • Supporting with proposal writing and work winning
  • The opportunity to work with the wider Energy & Climate Change team to prepare technical reports such as Climate Change Impact Assessments, Energy Statements, and Glint Assessments

We are looking for someone who has a can-do attitude backed up by a succinct and positive writing style, excellent interpersonal skills, and the confidence to proactively communicate with a wide range of stakeholders.

**Requirements**

  • A good Town Planning or other relevant degree
  • Actively working towards Chartership in Town Planning or the environmental sector
  • Demonstrable experience in the English planning system
  • Good technical knowledge of different application types, legislation, and planning policy
  • A full UK driving licence
  • Strong report writing and communication skills
